Martin G. Lacasse was born in 1968, in Chateauguay, Quebec, near Montreal, where, even at the early age of five, he displayed a fascination and awareness for the visual arts.
Throughout his school years, he pursued art as a major, receiving several provincial and national awards. Although mainly self-taught, his style was benefited by a summer scholarship at the Center for Creative Studies, Detroit, Michigan. As well, he received additional training at the University of Windsor in Life Drawing.
Now working professionally as a freelance artist for over 23 years, his artwork adorns the walls of numerous restaurants and other businesses in the Windsor, Ontario area.
Homes also display his murals and faux finishes in kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms, and entranceways. By specializing in the use of acrylic glazes, one of his better known mediums, he has been able to achieve a depth of life, ambiance, and detail in the subjects he depicts.
Martin continues to study the techniques of Renaissance Masters, incorporating these into his mural work. The result is evident in the Trompe I' Oeil "Still Life" compositions he creates, which add dimension and perspective to any room.
He presently runs Dynamic Effects in Windsor, Ont, from which he continues to apply his talent toward newer levels of artistic achievement.

To be able to enrich people's lives through art and to earn one's livelihood by it is an awesome gift for which I am deeply grateful.
It seems that all of us have a natural need for self expression. This is reflected evermore in how people today are choosing to decorate their living space. For me to share along with you in creating and visualizing your expressions brings me a wonderful sense of joy and purpose. |
